Send us your old tech

A mini PC from an old setup, the graphics card from your last upgrade, a phone in a drawer: send it to us, free of charge. We reimburse your shipping.

Most of us keep a drawer of tech we no longer use. We would rather it got a second life on our workbench, so we made it simple to send it to us, free of charge: we reimburse your shipping cost.

A mini PC taken apart: top cover, fan, heatsink, CPU, RAM, M.2 SSD, motherboard and chassis. We take every part of it. Drawing, not to scale.

How it works

  1. Tell us what you have

List the items in the form on the Old tech page: what they are, roughly how much they weigh and whether anything has a battery.

  2. We reply with an address

After a quick look at your list, we reply by email with a shipping address within 24 hours.

  3. Ship it

Use standard ground shipping with any carrier, such as USPS Ground Advantage or UPS Ground. Keep the receipt or invoice for the shipping label.

  4. Get reimbursed

Send us the receipt or invoice for the shipping label and we pay you back the shipping cost through PayPal.

What we accept

Almost any unwanted tech, working, broken or for parts: mini PCs and desktop PCs, laptops, monitors, graphics cards, CPUs, motherboards, RAM, SSDs and hard drives, rack servers, power supplies, CPU coolers, network switches, keyboards, phones, game consoles, cameras and routers. Tablets, handhelds, controllers, headsets, single-board computers, cables, chargers and docks are welcome too. If it has a circuit board and fits in one box up to 25 lb, ask us. Shipments come from within the United States.

A few things have to stay with you: anything over 25 lb per box or too bulky for a standard parcel, empty PC cases, CRT screens, damaged or loose lithium batteries, lead-acid batteries, fluorescent tubes, smoke detectors, leaking ink or toner, fuel-powered equipment, medical devices and anything wet or hazardous. The full list is on the page.

What happens to it

  1. Reused and repaired

Hardware that still works, or can be made to work again, gets used.

  2. In videos and experiments

Devices can appear in our videos, tests and builds.

  3. Taken apart to learn

Teardowns show how things are made, for us and for the people who watch.

  4. Kept for parts

Boards, fans, screws and connectors go into future builds and repairs.

Questions we get

Is it really free?

Yes. We reimburse your shipping cost once you send us a valid receipt or invoice for the shipping label.

Do you pay for the items?

No. We cover the shipping only.

Can I get a donation or tax receipt?

No. Bankasi Media is a business, not a charity, so we don’t issue donation or tax receipts.

What about my data?

Please back it up and wipe the device before you ship, and remove activation locks such as Find My. We can’t recover anything for you, and we can’t guarantee anything left on a device.

Tell us what you have, and we’ll reply with an address.
