Headphones on the desk take up space. Headphones on a hook under the desk are out of reach. The side of the PC case, it turns out, is just right.
The trick
There is a narrow gap beside the top exhaust grille of a Corsair 5000D or 5000X. The holder’s hook drops into it and catches beneath the grille edge, then its arm swings down the side panel. Put the magnetic top dust filter back on, and the filter itself keeps the hook in place. No screws, no adhesive.
Five centimetres
The hook leaves about 5 cm for the headband, enough for most headsets. Rest the band across it and the headset leans gently against the side panel.
